An Exchange

You know your math-loving five-year-old is under the influence of the Holy Spirit when you have this exchange:

Mommy: "Timmy, we're going to a church event. Time to get changed."

Timothy: "What time do we have to be there?"

Mommy: "Four o'clock."

Timothy: "But we can't!" That's what time Cyberchase is on!"

Timothy: Ten seconds later - "Oh, but Jesus is more important than the TV. I know that."

We make parenting mistakes frequently--especially in the area of saying too much around the kids about our stressers. Learning to control the tongue is the hardest thing most of us have to deal with, at least in the area of self-control. It's so nice to be reminded that God's grace is always there--making the best of our imperfect parenting efforts.

I guess these guys will turn out fine after all.
