Wisdom

Last night I dwelt on James 1:2-4. Today, I am dwelling on James 1:5-6:

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

I had mentioned to Don whether he thought we should immediately put the house up for sale, with a "by owner" sign, instead of just primarily spending time looking for jobs. We want to be able to recover our down payment, at least. This house is a fantastic deal for the price, due to the square footage from the family-room and dining-room additions, and the large, fenced yard. It might go faster than the market would predict. We put in new flooring, carpet, paint, a new dishwasher, a water softener, a new water heater, and a bathroom sink and counter 3.5 years ago. It needs paint again, but the other improvements still look new.

I also called Countrywide to inquire about mortgage-hardship programs. They did get a bailout, after all. We'll see what happens with that.

I believe your Word, Lord. If we pray for wisdom, it will come. I also believe that you work all things for the good of those who love you.

My mother says they would be happy to take us in.

hoping the kids are feeling better - emily in particular. i hear you on the whinning when they are sick. the lack of sleep during these cycles of sickness do nothing to aid my patience for it. thanks for the prayers for katie. it is taking some time to get through this one. you can tell the effects are taking a toll on her little body when she wakes up, eats and falls right back to sleep. so instead of the 2 naps she would normally take she is taking 3. i am thankful though, one for the few more hands free minutes and two because i know she needs the rest more than anything.

as always, i will continue to pray. i will definitely keep wisdom at the top of the list - that you and your Beloved would be wise in your decisions. i will also pray for rest (not sure how all this is affecting sleep along with colds).

if ever you want to hear a voice let me know - i will gladly call. take care, sweet pam.
