Anna Grace's fussy period extends from about 6 pm to midnight. As long as I swaddle and rock her after the older kids go to bed, and put on some white noise, she falls asleep in my arms and generally stays asleep there until her next feeding. How wonderful it is to snuggle her and spend this precious time with her! Thank you, Lord.
The only problem is, I can't put her down long enough to do the dishes, finish the laundry, or straighten the house. When Don walks through the door at 11:30 pm, he takes over with the rocking while I get the minimum done, or he starts on the dishes himself. Our house is a disaster, with clutter in every room and on every surface. My nerves, always affected by clutter, are frazzled.
She's my last baby, though, and I will live in the moment during these precious snuggling and rocking hours. I just wish we had more family here, who could come over once a week and relieve me for a couple hours, so I can scurry around decluttering. Order makes me smile. I'm no neat freak by any stretch, but order gives me a lift.

I think there is a reason God designed families with two parents! ;)
