Happiness is when your sugar-and-spice toddler insists on feeding you her graham cracker. Who can resist those toothy, ear-to-ear grins and giggles?
Happiness is hearing your sons engage in rich make-believe. Today they were mail carriers, grocery-store owners, doctors.
Happiness is looking out your dining room window and seeing your three children knelt down, knee-to-knee, working the garden soil with their Best-Ever Daddy.
Happiness is seeing your toddler, who was a sling baby last summer, experience all her summertime firsts - Popsicles, sand toys, sprinklers, kiddie pools, playground apparatus, dragonflies, caterpillars, worms, flower-smelling, flower picking....
Happiness is when your husband says he misses your legs (now compression-stocking covered), exclaiming that he loves their shape and softness and doesn't mind the bulging veins.
Thank you, Lord, for these blessings, and so many others.
